How To Get Consistent With Your Marketing

I know you’ve seen the posts that advise on ‘what you should be sharing each week on Instagram’.

They catch my eye too, for a moment, because they capitalise on our deepest fear… that we don’t know what we’re doing. 🤦

They say you need to be doing…

  • 📱 Daily stories

  • 📱 Daily reels

  • 📱 3 lives a week

  • 📱 2 carousels each week

I don’t know about you, but I feel anxious and exhausted just thinking about it. 😴

It feeds the pressure we feel to ‘get visible’, ‘show up’, ‘be present’, ‘talk to camera’ every~flippin’~day.

I’m over it. I know you are too.

 
 

They say ‘be consistent with your marketing’, but they mean ‘be CONSTANT with your marketing’. 🤯

And that’s exactly what leads to burnout (🙋🏻‍♀️ speaking from experience over here!)

Here’s the nuisance…

CONSISTENT marketing doesn’t mean CONSTANT marketing

You can be consistent with your marketing WITHOUT burning out, WITHOUT having to ‘talk to camera’ every day.

The solution ~ is sustainable marketing.

This is NOT about doing MORE marketing. Hell no! 🙅

It’s about getting strategic with your marketing.

It's about doing marketing that has a LEGACY. That drives traffic and sales WITHOUT you having to ‘get visible’ 🙄 and ‘talk to camera’ 🥱 every damn day.

Here’s how you get consistent with your marketing… WITHOUT being up all night writing content and creating canva graphics. 😅

The online world connects us to SOOOO much information. Which on one hand is the most incredible thing ever!

On the other hand it can lead to… alodda overwhelm. 🤯

Ever done a podcast binge, or scrolled your IG feed and come away thinking… ok so I need to…

  • 📍 Start doing Pinterest

  • 💌 Build my mailing list

  • 🧑‍💻 Get blogging

  • 📱 Jump on reels trends asap

  • 🎙 Start a podcast

  • 💬 Have a DM strategy

It’s A LOT right?

Well, I’m comin' in hot with a big fat STOP 🛑 sign, and a much easier solution to getting consistent with your marketing.

Let’s go back to basics.

Marketing is: the stuff you’re doing to move people along your buyer’s journey. Here’s your buyers journey:

  • 👀 DISCOVER: Helping the right people discover you and your brand

  • ❤️ NURTURE: Helping your people get to know, like and trust you

  • 💰 INVITE: Communicating what you do, how it helps your people and inviting them to buy from you.

Marketing is THAT simple.

If you want to get consistent with your marketing, you need to figure out what marketing activity you’re doing to fulfil those three jobs - discover, nurture, invite.

... maybe it doesn't mean doing MORE marketing.

Maybe it actually means doing LESS marketing, but doing it more strategically.

This is the quality over quantity (and anti burnout) approach to marketing). I call this Freedom Friendly Marketing.

Your sustainable, consistent marketing approach could look as simple as...

  • ‍🧑‍💻 Blogging (discover & nurture) -> 💌 Mailing list (nurture & invite)

  • 🎬 YouTube (discover & nurture) -> 💌 Mailing list (nurture & invite)

  • 🗣 Speaking at events & on podcasts (discover & nurture) -> 📱IG carousels & stories (nurture & invite)

  • 👯‍♀️ Networking in person, or on social media (discover & nurture) -> 💻 website sales page (invitel)

  • 📱TikTok (discover & nurture) -> 💌 Mailing list (nurture & invite)

And sure, you might also want to launch a couple of times a year, or add in another marketing channel to increase the potential touchpoints your audience has with your brand.

...but here’s the BIG takeaway…

to be consistent with your marketing you don't need to do all-the-things.
